COMMUNITY FOCUS Campers will interact with local community members such as the Novato police and firefighters, horse trainers at Morning Star Farm, and local farmers from the San Rafael Civic Center Farmers Market.
SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT Each week campers will participate in writing and performing plays based on the theme of the week and their cumulative knowledge of the content. Campers will work together to collaboratively produce a dramatic production which will be performed for the parents at the end of the week.LANGUAGE DEVELOPMENT Campers will be exposed to quality literature relating directly to the weekly theme. The literature will include Caldecott and honor winners such as: David McLimans, Gone Wild: An Endangered Animal Alphabet.
About Jumpstart Learning Camp
Jumpstart Learning Camp is a 6 week interactive learning-based camp emphasizing academic material highlighted in the California Content Standards.
The goal of the camp is to make
learning fun, helping kids retain what they learned
during the previous school year and preparing them for the next
grade.
Each week focuses on a different theme and includes a field trip to interactively reinforce the material.
The week's theme will be taught using multiple subjects and engaging students gifted in specific subjects.
This all-inclusive camp offers an outlet for kids to learn in a creative environment, keeping them interested and challenging them to grow.
